Dr Eugene Adade, now an MSc student of the Friedrich-Loeffler-Institut (FLI), Federal Research Institute for Animal Health, Germany, received the 2023 Young Scientist Award of the Friends and Patrons Association of the Friedrich-Loeffler-Institut (FLI).

The FLI Headquarters in Northern Germany hosted the occasion where Eugene Adade presented his outstanding work and got the Award from Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Thomas Mettenleiter, FLI President, and Dr. Gerfried Zeller, FLI Chairman.

“Eugene Adade is a promising young African researcher who contributed substantially to yaws research in Ghana. Due to his talent and motivation, he also generated data on antimicrobial resistance in nonhuman primates.” said his German supervisor Prof. Dr. Sascha Knauf, from the Institute of International Animal Health/One Health at the FLI.

“Eugene has been a consistent and focused young research scientist whose work has brought honour to our German- African Consortium funded by the DFG.” said his Ghanaian supervisor Dr. Augustina Sylverken from Kumasi Centre for Collaborative Research in Tropical Medicine (KCCR) and the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in Ghana.
