On Wednesday, 25th March 2026, the Kumasi Centre for Collaborative Research in Tropical Medicine (KCCR) welcomed a high-level delegation from German institutions as part of a Higher Education Policy Visit to KNUST in Ghana.

The delegation included representatives from universities such as the University of Münster, University of Bonn, Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf, Freie Universität Berlin, and Ulm University, alongside a senior programme officer from the DAAD Regional Office in Accra.



The visit focused on exploring opportunities for research cooperation and knowledge transfer between German institutions and Ghanaian partners. At KCCR, the delegation received an overview of the Centre’s research priorities and ongoing contributions to global health and tropical medicine, followed by a tour of its laboratories and facilities, showcasing advanced techniques and state-of-the-art infrastructure for infectious disease research.





Discussions centred on potential collaborations in research, academic exchange, and joint initiatives addressing global health and scientific challenges.





The visit highlights the strengthening of Ghana Germany academic partnerships and reinforces KCCR’s role as a leading hub for international research collaboration, innovation, and capacity building.
