AFRICA HEALTH COLLABORATIVE, KNUST AND MASTERCARD FOUNDATION VISIT KCCR

February 27, 2026

The Africa Health Collaborative, KNUST, and the Mastercard Foundation visited the Kumasi Centre for Collaborative Research in Tropical Medicine (KCCR) as part of a four-day short course on Emergency Preparedness and Response for Health Professionals.

The tour was a crucial practical component of the program, giving participants firsthand experience with laboratory systems, research infrastructure, and coordinated response techniques required for managing public health emergencies. Through guided tours and engaging conversations with KCCR experts, participants gained a better grasp of epidemic response, diagnostics, and collaborative research in low-income settings.

The engagement improved institutional ties and highlighted the importance of research institutions in enhancing emergency preparedness and health system resilience throughout Africa.
