The Kumasi Centre for Collaborative Research in Tropical Medicine (KCCR) welcomed a delegation from the Mastercard Foundation’s Africa Higher Education for Transformation (AHEFT) Prize team as part of efforts to strengthen collaboration between the two institutions.

The delegation was welcomed by KCCR’s Scientific Director, Prof. Alexander Yaw Debrah, who led discussions on KCCR’s mandate, research activities, and contributions to health and scientific development.

Discussions highlighted KCCR’s groundbreaking research, its contribution to improving healthcare delivery in Ghana and beyond, and its role in building the capacity of the next generation of scientists and researchers.

During the visit, the delegation toured KCCR’s facilities and learned about the Centre’s role as a hub for research and practical learning for students from KNUST, across Ghana, and beyond.

The engagement provided an opportunity to explore areas of mutual interest and identify opportunities for deeper collaboration in research, education, innovation, and capacity development.

KCCR looks forward to building on this engagement and strengthening its partnership with the Mastercard Foundation to advance research and nurture future scientific leaders.
