KCCR HOSTS SEMINAR ON HARNESSING ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE FOR MODERN RESEARCH

March 12, 2026

The Kumasi Centre for Collaborative Research in Tropical Medicine (KCCR) recently hosted a seminar on “Harnessing Artificial Intelligence for Modern Research,” bringing together researchers, students, and staff to explore the growing role of artificial intelligence (AI) in advancing scientific discovery.

The seminar, facilitated by Dr Prince Ebenezer Adjei, a lecturer at the Department of Biomedical Engineering, KNUST and an AI in Healthcare Specialist, provided participants with valuable insights into how AI-driven technologies are transforming research processes across multiple disciplines, including biomedical sciences, public health, and data analysis. Discussions focused on the potential of AI to improve data processing, accelerate scientific discovery, and enhance decision-making in complex research environments.

During the session, participants were introduced to practical applications of AI in research, including data analysis, predictive modelling, literature review automation, and digital tools that support evidence-based research. The seminar also highlighted how AI can help researchers manage large datasets and uncover patterns that may otherwise be difficult to detect through traditional methods.

The interactive session encouraged participants to reflect on both the opportunities and challenges associated with integrating artificial intelligence into modern research workflows. Ethical considerations, data integrity, and responsible use of AI technologies were also discussed as important elements in ensuring that AI supports high-quality and reliable scientific outcomes.

The seminar forms part of KCCR’s ongoing commitment to strengthening research capacity and promoting innovative tools that support scientific excellence.
