The Kumasi Centre for Collaborative Research in Tropical Medicine hosted a delegation from the BioMex Certificate Programme on 14th April 2026, marking an important step in strengthening collaboration on biotechnology training and capacity building in Ghana.

The visit built on ongoing discussions to support the practical implementation of the BioMex Certificate Programme in Kumasi. Engagements focused on identifying opportunities for collaboration in skills development, research integration, and knowledge transfer, particularly within the biotechnology and pharmaceutical sectors.


Key stakeholders present included Prof. Richard Odame Philips, Scientific Director of KCCR; Prof. Augustina Angelina Sylverken, Vice-Dean of the International Programmes Office; and Prof. Samuel Asare-Nkansah, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.





As part of the visit, the BioMex delegation toured KCCR’s laboratories, gaining insight into ongoing research and the Centre’s advanced scientific infrastructure highlighting the broader academic and research ecosystem supporting training and innovation.






This engagement reinforces KCCR’s commitment to building strategic international partnerships that drive innovation, enhance technical expertise, and contribute to sustainable health solutions in Ghana and beyond.
