KCCR Researchers Recognized Among Ghana’s Top 100 Scientists in AD Scientific Index 2026

The Kumasi Centre for Collaborative Research in Tropical Medicine (KCCR) is proud to celebrate four distinguished researchers who have been recognised in the AD Scientific Index 2026 – Top 100 Scientists Citation Rankings in Ghana.

The recognised scientists are:

  • Prof. Yaw Ampem Amoako
  • Prof. Ellis Owusu-Dabo
  • Prof. Richard Odame Philips
  • Prof. Augustina Angelina Sylverken

This recognition highlights their exceptional contributions to scientific research, academic excellence, mentorship, and global health impact through their extensive citation performance and scholarly influence.

Professor Ellis Owusu-Dabo, Board Chairman of KCCR and renowned public health researcher, continues to play a leading role in advancing biomedical research and strengthening global health collaborations in Ghana and across Africa.

Professor Richard Odame Philips, Scientific Director of KCCR, has made significant contributions to infectious disease and neglected tropical diseases research while providing strategic leadership that has further strengthened KCCR’s reputation as a leading research institution.

Professor Yaw Ampem Amoako’s impactful work in skin neglected tropical diseases and public health research has contributed immensely to disease awareness, diagnosis, and improved healthcare outcomes within communities.

Professor Augustina Angelina Sylverken has also distinguished herself through her contributions to infectious disease research, scientific capacity building, and mentorship, contributing significantly to Ghana’s growing research landscape.

The AD Scientific Index evaluates scientists based on citation performance, productivity, and the global impact of their research contributions. The inclusion of these KCCR researchers among Ghana’s top-ranked scientists reflects the Centre’s continued commitment to research excellence, innovation, and scientific advancement.
