Charité University Team Visits KCCR to Support Vaccine Research

March 27, Kumasi – A delegation from Charité University in Germany, led by world-renowned Virologist Prof. Christian Drosten, visited the Kumasi Centre for Collaborative Research in Tropical Medicine (KCCR) as part of efforts to strengthen vaccine research in Ghana.

The visit focused on building partnerships and sharing knowledge to help advance local research capabilities. He interacted with the CEO, National Vaccine Institute and visited some pharma and institutions in Accra. He visited the KNUST-IVI Collaborating Center at Agogo and held a meeting with the CEO.

During their time at KCCR, the Charité team held productive discussions with Principal Investigators and interacted with Master’s and PhD students from the One Health Virology group.

This collaboration highlights the importance of international cooperation in addressing global health challenges, particularly in the area of vaccine development and disease prevention.
