KCCR has installed photovoltaic solar panels with a 70kWh storage capacity for inverter systems to allow its BSL3 laboratories to enjoy an uninterrupted power supply, independent of the electricity Grid.  This was supported by a grant from Studies and Experts Fund Ghana/GIZ

The laboratories, cafeteria and guest house rooms are also served with a Solar Water Heater System.

Currently, all streetlights on the KCCR compound have been replaced with 3-in-1 LED Solar Street Lights
