Biography
Bernadette Agbavor is currently a Ph.D. student at the Kumasi Center for Collaborative Medicine affiliated with the SkinNTD Group led by Professor Richard Odame Phillips. She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biological Sciences from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). She also has a Master of Philosophy Degree in Immunology from KNUST. She has worked at KCCR moving from the position of a laboratory technologist through to a research assistant and a trial coordinator. She has experience in clinical laboratory science and
The research for her Ph.D. focuses on optimising a novel decontamination procedure for increased recovery of Mycobacterium ulcerans isolates for use in genomic sequencing and evaluating Nitric oxide wound dressing to improve Buruli ulcer outcomes and is supported by the BuruliNox study which is part of the EDCTP2 programme supported by the European Union (101897 BuruliNox TMA 2016 SF-1509).
