KCCR 20th Anniversary grand durbar celebration took place on Friday 17th November 2017 at the Centre’s quadrangle. Dignitaries that graced the occasion were Nana Baffour Osei Hyiaman, the Manwerehene, representing His Royal Majesty Otumfuo Osei-Tutu II, Asantehene and Chancellor of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, the German Ambassador, His Excellency Christoph Retzlaff and Dr. Reginald Nii Odai, acting Director of Research, Statistics and Information Management at the Ministry of Health representing the Minister of Health.

Rev. Prof Charles Ansah, the Pro-Vice Chancellor represented the Vice-Chancellor of KNUST delivered a speech on his behalf. Professors Rolf Horstmann, Jurgen May and Birgit Mueller represented the Bernhard Nocht Institute of Tropical Medicine (BNITM), Hamburg Germany. Provosts, Deans, Directors at the KNUST and alumni of KCCR were also in attendance. Dr Thomas Kruppa who was the longest serving Director was there to give a speech.

Scientific outputs were visibly displayed in stands by the various research working groups within the Centre.

As part of the celebration, four long serving staff of KCCR, Mr Sebastian Kankam (Senior Accountant), Mr Jeffrey Agyemang (Systems Administrator), Mr Paul Marfo Bekyir and Mr Philip Frimpong (both with the transport department) were honoured for their dedication to the institution.

Kumasi Centre for Collaborative Research in Tropical Medicine (KCCR) is celebrating its 25th Anniversary. There will be a Symposium from the 29th to the 30th of November 2022.
